Menasha Utilities is working to protect the community's air, water and natural resources. This effort has been an integral part of our business and will continue to be in the future.
Through these programs and more, the utility is helping to make Menasha a better place to live and work. Together, we can help protect the environment for the future generations.
Solar Energy Cash Allowance
The sun is a powerful source of energy! In fact, on a bright, sunny day the sun can shine about 1,000 watts of energy per square meter of the earth's surface.
Today, solar energy systems designed to capture this energy from the sun are becoming more and more affordable. And to top it off, we are now offering a cash allowance to encourage the purchase and installation of solar energy systems in our community.
Rebates are available for new solar water heaters and photovoltaic technologies, as well as the repair of existing solar water systems. Certain restrictions apply and projects must be approved by the utility prior to installation.
Tree Power!
Did you know that trees can save you energy and money? Properly planted around your home, shade trees can lower your cooling costs in summer. Trees that shade the south or west sides of the building can reduce air conditioning costs in summer. When the leaves fall in the winter, bare trees allow warm sunlight to reach your home.
We want to help more people in our community enjoy the benefits of trees. For a limited time, we're offering a cast rebate equal to 50% of the purchase price (up to $50 per tree) when you buy and plant deciduous trees. Certain restrictions apply.
Lamp/Ballast Recycling
Menasha Utilities provides competitive, efficient and safe recycling and/or disposal of hazardous and potentially harzardous waste lamps, light bulbs, capacitors and other PCB ballast components in an EPA approved facility.
