Keep It Green Program Introduced
Have you been thinking about participating in our Renewable Energy Program but maybe need a little incentive to purchase “green power”?
Renewable energy is derived from sources that are continually replenished by nature, such as wind, water, solar, geothermal, and biomass. As the amount of renewable energy we use increases, the need to rely on traditional sources of energy such as coal, oil, and natural gas decreases. This not only reduces waste and emissions, but also helps improve air and water quality.
For just a few dollars each month, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you're preserving energy resources for tomorrow.
Now here’s the incentive - in recognition of Arbor Day, customers of Menasha Utilities who sign up to purchase Renewable Energy will receive a $20.00 certificate from a local nursery that is good towards the purchase of a deciduous tree. This offer begins on Monday, April 19, 2004 and quantities are limited.
Trees properly planted on the south or west sides of your home can reduce air conditioning costs in summer. When the leaves fall in the winter, the bare trees allow warm sunlight to reach your home.
Menasha Utilities is dedicated to helping people in our community enjoy the benefits of trees while at the same time preserving our energy resources for future generations. Forms for purchasing “green power” can be obtained at our office or by calling 967-5263. The form can also be download by clicking here - 2004 Renewable Energy Sign-Up Form.
