Scholarships Awarded

Kimberly Lamb and Erik Biese

Menasha Utilities recently awarded two scholarships to local students.

The $1,000 High School Scholarship was awarded on June 1 to Kimberly Lamb, a senior at Menasha High School. Kimberly is the daughter of Karen and David Lamb, and she plans on attending the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in the fall to pursue her career goal of becoming a high school math teacher.

Although the Line Mechanic Scholarship has been offered to students since 2001, this is the first year Menasha Utilities has awarded the $1,000 scholarship. The recipient is Erik Biese, son of Pete and Susan Biese (Pete is a Menasha Utilities Water Plant Technician).

Erik graduated from Menasha High School in 2001 and is enrolled in the Electrical Power Distribution Program at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay pursuing his goal of becoming a Journeyman Line Mechanic.

General Manager Doug Young stated, "The objectives of both scholarship programs are to give something back to the community by supporting students in the pursuit of post-secondary education and job training . . . we are extremely proud to be helping both Kimberly and Erik with their education."
