Work Safe this Summer
Warm weather brings an increase in outdoor work. Increasing electrical safety awareness can help ensure those activities do not result in injuries and deaths.
Here are some tips on how to avoid an outdoor electrical accident:
- Keep outdoor outlets weather-protected with outlet covers.
- Use a ground fault circuit interrupter and keep products with cords away from sinks, puddles, pools, ponds and hot tubs.
- Switch off, unplug, store and lock outdoor electrical equipment when not in use.
- Match product power needs to extension cord label information and make sure they are rated for outdoor use.
- Keep away from pad-mounted electrical equipment. If you notice the cabinet doors or locks have been tampered with or left open, contact us immediately.
