The goal of the Menasha Water Utility is to continuously provide our customers with a safe and dependable supply of drinking water.
Our water supply source is taken from Lake Winnebago, filtered, and treated at our Water Filtration Plant located on Manitowoc Street, and distributed to our customers through our water distribution system.
The water delivered to our customers is continuously monitored and tested according to federal and state laws.
The water filtration plant and water distribution system serves 5,000 commercial, industrial and residential customers in Menasha.The Menasha Water Utility also provides wholesale water services to the Menasha Utility District located in the Town of Menasha.
In 2006, the City of Menasha approved a $12.8M water treatment plant addition designed to meet upcoming Safe Drinking Water Standards. This project has been completed and has added new water filters, granular activated carbon filtering, and ultraviolet disinfection.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources establishes water quality standards with respect to public waters, and an examining program for the certification of the waterworks plant operators, laboratory certification, and setting certain standards as may be necessary for health and safety purposes.
